Shopping and Dining

You can expect this topic to be pretty short since neither of these were big items on an elementary school kid’s list of priorities. :wink: Still, this deserves at least a little discussion since even we kids had to eat now and then, and occasionally had things to buy that our parents didn’t supply. Kwaj was a small place and thus not a shopping/dining Mecca, having only a few choices for either, but they were sufficient to meet our needs. (more…)

A Day in the Life

I wish I’d consistently kept a diary of some kind while I was on Kwaj so I’d have a detailed picture of what day-to-day life was like, but then I was only in elementary school and not prone to spending my free time writing in a book. :wink: Thus, all I have now are general recollections of island life as it was then, blurred over the years to the point where all but the most specific events have melded into a warm, but indistinct fabric of patchwork memories and random anecdotes. I thought I’d take some time today to write a bit about that fabric and of the life it represents. (more…)
