Welcome!

I’m glad you took time to stop by this online Kwaj blog to see what foolishness I have to talk about. :D Instead of emailing this junk to people, possibly against their wishes ;) , I decided to put it here so that those who are interested can check it at their leisure, and others can quietly ignore it. I truly hope that some of my comments and reminiscing will encourage you to share some of your own thoughts about a very special time in all of our lives…being a Kwaj Kid. :)

Time permitting, I hope to keep this blog up-to-date by posting some thoughts here at least a few times a month, so please check in at least once a month to see if I’m ever starting to make sense. ;) My posts will be a combination of stuff off the top of my head plus excerpts from the Kwaj section of a personal memoir I’ve been slowly working on.

If you’re wondering, after 30 years, why the sudden interest in flooding the Internet with stuff about your Kwaj life? Most people I talk to are way too busy with the daily activities of life to spend time meandering down Ocean Road on the mental equivalent of a rusty bike.  While I’m not idle myself, I’ve reached a point where our children are nearly grown and will be leaving the nest soon, and the demands of parenthood are slowly receding. This has given me pause to reflect on all that has come before, not just the past few years but all the way back to the beginning, and my 3 years on Kwaj are a favorite destination when Mr. Peabody’s “way back” machine kicks into high gear. :D

As with my online Kwaj photo gallery, this blog is not restricted to me. If you were in the Class of 1983 (or thereabouts) and spent time on Kwaj, whether you graduated from there or not, I invite you to register and author your own posts about Kwaj life as you remember it. At a minimum, I hope you’ll share your comments on my own posts, which you can do without actually registering. My Kwaj perspective is only one of many, and I hope you’ll add your own unique experiences to the fabric I’m weaving here. It’ll be more interesting by far if you do.

While you’re here, please check out the other Kwaj-related links listed in the right pane. Some are mine, some are not. Enjoy!
